Summary:

      Aikido. "the Way of Harmony of the Spirit", is a Japanese martial art which focuses not on punching or kicking opponents, but rather on using their own energy to gain control of them or to throw them away from you. It emphasizes motion and the dynamics of movement. Although it is usable as a method of self-defence, aikido is also a means to attain spiritual enlightenment, physical health and peace of mind.
